Simple rules to prevent urinary tract infections

Tip 1

Drink a minimum of 2 liters of fluids daily.
Every day you should produce about 1.5 liters of urine.

Tip 2

Drink cranberry juice regularly. A component therein hinders bacteria to bind itself to mucous membrane.

Tip 3

Empty your bladder after sexual intercourse after 15 minutes at the latest to rinse out bacteria, which have spread out into the urethra.

Tip 4

Protect yourself from coldness and change wet clothing as soon as possible.

Tip 5

Do not wash your genital area excessively with soap, as the acidic layer of the skin will be destroyed.

Tip 6

After defecation always wipe from the front (vagina) to the behind (anus).

Tip 7

Wear fresh underwear – preferably of cotton.

Tip 8

Always go to the toilet as soon as you feel the urge to do so. A need to urinate 4 to 6 times daily is completely normal.
